Volume 5, Number 12
Hello Friends!
During the past few days because of the heat, I have taken up the life of a raccoon. I stay in close to the den during the day and go out in the late afternoon or evening. Not exactly true, but I have sure found reason to do more office work. I just ended up a few weeks of NBHA Finals, Kansas High School Rodeo Finals, and Missouri High School Rodeo Finals. It was great to see and meet new folks.
This week we are getting ready for Ottawa Kansas’s 6th Annual Old West Cowboy Days. This event goes from Friday, June 26th thru Sunday, June 28th. On Friday night, we have a great reception and art show at the Old Depot Museum located off Tecumseh in Ottawa. The art show is fine, but you will not want to miss the food that Mark Burkdoll serves. The Mountain Oysters are the best! Then, on Saturday and Sunday, we have the neat events along with some great booths that will be there. Saturday evening at the Ottawa Municipal Auditorium we have the great Western Music Show featuring Western Music great, RW Hampton. Also, along with RW Hampton, you will have the opportunity to hear cowboy poet, Geff Dawson, and an up and coming singing star, Rusty Rierson. Don’t miss this great weekend coming up, and join us at Old West Cowboy Days in Ottawa, KS. Also, along with the vendors and events, there will be a Tack Swap going on. You can find out more about Old West Cowboy Days, by logging on to www.oldwestcowboydays.com.
The results and response we have received with the new Omolenes , Equine Junior, and Equine Senior has been tremendous. Make sure you go to www.purinadifference.com and find out more about these products . . . plus, you will get the opportunity to try them out with a trial offer.
We are so excited about this year’s American Royal Unbelievable Horse Happening to be held Oct.22nd thru Oct.25th during the American Royal’s PRCA Rodeo. We have teamed up with the Family Center Farm & Home and Circle Y Saddles to be able to give three saddles away -- one each day on Friday, Saturday and Sunday. This particular weekend at the Royal, you will have the opportunity to see a great PRCA Rodeo, attend or participate in a great horse show, and attend the American Royal’s Equine and Ranch Expo. You need to go to either www.betterhorsesnetwork.com or www.americanroyal.com.
A couple of weeks ago, I was down in southwest Missouri where I attended the Brianna Walker Memorial Rodeo. Wow! What a turn out! It was a real highlight to attend and hear singer, Rusty Rierson, do a special tribute to Brianna and the Walker family. Also, since I was so close, I ran down to Ava, MO to attend the Missouri Fox Trotter 51st Annual Show and Celebration. I even had the opportunity to take a spin on a Fox Trotter. Wow, they are smooth!
I really hope that all of you are enjoying the summer by spending some great time with your family and friends. I hope to see you around.
Happy Trails!
Ernie

Thoughts
To Ponder

Charity Charity is the only way to help all these different kinds of people. If you are going to do anything at all for 'em, feed 'em, even if they don't become Christians. - Will Rogers Will never hesitated to help someone or an organization when called, whether in time of crisis or a friend down on their luck. He understood when we give back or invest in our communities in areas that help transform an individual's life for the better, we help create an environment for others to succeed. Giving a hand up instead of a hand out will make a greater difference in someone's life by helping to restore their sense of self-worth, provide a second chance and give them hope. When we find something to believe deeply in and worth doing, we'll likely dedicate or commit ourselves to those causes or goals, accomplish them in some fashion and make a difference in someone's life. Whether it's high and lofty goals or causes of a down-home, meat-and-potatoes type -- when we commit to something that excites us passionately and needs to be done, we'll see it through. Most of us can think of a time someone gave us a helping hand when we were experiencing a setback and how that gesture made a difference in our comeback in life today. As a result, many of us continue to pay it forward by extending a helping hand to others. |
